Application for Emergency Respite

We provide limited short-term accommodation for people who cannot access housing through their local council.

Applications

This application is to be completed by third parties on behalf of refugees or asylum seekers based in Berkshire. The purpose of the accommodation should be for short-term respite and emergency shelter.

Eligibility

Applicants should be eligible for Universal Credit (housing element).
Must be willing to live in shared accommodation.
Must be able to work and/or study.
Applicants should not be considered “vulnerable” by the council (our service is designed for those ready to take steps toward independence rather than high-support needs).

We particularly aim to support the refugee population who are often passed over by the council and found ineligible for housing support. Our project is designed to give these individuals a fair chance to build their lives, access opportunities, and move towards independence.

All applications are reviewed promptly, and our team works closely with referrers to ensure the best outcome for the applicant.
