About Resettlement

Resettlement is a Community Interest Company founded in 2021. Our objective is to support local refugees and asylum seekers adjust to life in the UK.

We formed during the midst of former Home Secretary, Priti Patel’s, New Plan for Immigration Policy Statement in March of that year and the subsequent surge of dangerous Channel Crossings. The continued politicising of displaced people has highlighted the need to support and welcome some of the most vulnerable members of our local communities.

Our work includes:

-    ESOL tuition and access to educational recourses

-    Legal consultation for asylum seekers

-    Rent top up and general cost of living assistance

-    Support for pre-Home Office application CSS

-    Co-ordinating recreational group activities

-    CV building

-    Data and information collection
